I hope that you had a great week and were able to get out and enjoy the mild weather we have been lucky enough to have throughout October. It has been great to see people still out enjoying a game in short sleeves and even in some cases shorts which is unusual for this time of year as you know.
This week I would like to say a few words of congratulations to the Junior Committee. As some of you may be aware, this year was the first year that Junior Membership has been available at the club. Proposed and driven by Captain, Johnny Craven, the outstanding success of the junior club to date has been fantastic to see. The committee have been working tirelessly in the background ensuring that correct structures are in place to provide an appropriate and fun experience for our Junior members. With weekly competitions and coaching by our Head Professional Ciaran, it is now common place to see junior golfers around the club enjoying their golf and getting better each week. Well done to all involved it really is a credit to all and a real positive step forward for the club!
You may have noticed over the last two weeks that out green keeping staff have been busy sanding the fairways and rough, 300 tone of sand was distributed over the course! Well done to John Jennings and his team for completing the job with very little disruption to play. This is a critical maintenance job to get completed to ensure firm playable surfaces throughout the winter and help keep the course in great shape during the summer months, don’t forget to do your bit to help by grabbing a divot bag on your way onto the course and ensure you refill your divots when out enjoying your game to keep the course in great shape!
