How I Play Castleknock by Ciaran Hegarty

Hole 1

The 312 Yard, 1st hole in Castleknock is a nice opener to the course. A lake and out of bounds to the left, a fall off and trees to the right. This risk reward hole can be played as a two Iron shot hole or the bigger hitters can take it on with the driver try and get up close to the green.

Off the tee, Aiming between the bunker and the big tree on the right. The lake begins at the 180 Yard mark from the blue tee, any club that plays short of that is the safest play as you will give yourself the best chance to still be in play. Aiming between the bunker and the big tree on the right.

From there playing in to a green which slope from back right to front left, meaning begin left and below the hole is almost a must, otherwise you will face a fast first putt of the day.

A par to open, now off to the 2nd hole to unleash driver on the long par 5.
