Originally from Zimbabwe, Ryan moved to Ireland over 15 years ago and soon began his career in the golf industry. He has a wealth of experience having started his training in a busy high street store, where he was responsible for overseeing the shops operations. Ryan then moved to Ardee Golf Club where he completed his training to become a PGA Professional. Soon after qualifying, Ryan took up a position as Teaching Professional on-board the Costa Luminosa Cruise Ship, before returning to Ireland to work with Carr Golf Services as Operations manager in Sillogue Golf course, one of Dublin’s busiest public courses. Following this, Ryan was the Director Of Golf at Kilcock Golf Club and enjoyed working there for more than three years, completely transforming the club’s membership structure, implementing a strong Junior Program and increasing the clubs reputation throughout the country with various marketing strategies.
Ryan is a great teacher of the game and enjoys coaching people of all abilities from the complete beginner to the top amateur. Tom Isherwood comes from a family of restauranteurs. From 1947 to 2014 his family owned and operated Sheries Restaurant on Lower Abbey Street in Dublin City Centre. Tom received an Honours Degree from Dublin Institute of Technology in Hospitality Management and from there went to work in the Cellar Bar and Restaurant at the Merrion Hotel for 7 Years; working his way up to the position of Cellar Bar Manager. Tom became Beverage Manager of the The Fitzwilliam Hotel on St. Stephen’s Green and has been working there for the past year. Tom is passionate about fine wine and good food, delivered with a smile and a friendly manner
John started his Greenkeeping career in Castlebar Golf Club, where his father was the Head Greenkeeper for over forty years . While employed by Castlebar Golf Club, John completed a City and Guild Sports Turf Management course in the Botanical Gardens. In 1984 he moved to the Grange Golf Club, where he was appointed assistant Head Greenkeeper to Bill Garner and held that position until 1999, when he moved to Carton House to take up the position of Assistant Superintendent under John Plummer. During this time John undertook the responsibility of the grow-in of the O’Meara and Montgomery Courses. He spent four years in this position before taking the role of Course Superintendent in Castleknock Golf Club in 2004.
