There’s a certain kind of satisfaction in finishing eighteen holes and knowing exactly where you’re headed next. At Castleknock, that’s the terrace at The Vue, looking straight back out over the 9th and 18th greens.
It doesn’t take much to make an afternoon of it. A Golfer’s Club Sandwich or a bowl of chips if you’re after something quick, the Seared Steak Salad or Fish & Chips if you’re staying longer. A pint at the bar if the round went your way, or if it didn’t. Finish with the warm brownie and ice cream, or just another coffee, while the light changes over the fairways.
The round doesn’t have to end at the 18th. Plenty of members and visitors make an afternoon of it on the terrace, long after the clubs are back in the car.
